About The Position

The College of Southern Nevada's Nursing Department is seeking Student Workers to support its simulation labs. Reporting to the Simulation Lab Manager and/or Program Director, the Student-Worker will be trained to perform assigned tasks under supervision. The primary focus is to maintain simulation settings and lab rooms in a clean, organized, and functional state to ensure a professional learning environment. This is a non-instructional role; Student-Workers are prohibited from teaching or lecturing and cannot provide clinical instruction or evaluate student performance. However, they may provide technical guidance on the use of lab equipment and supplies during open labs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, and some weekends
  • Ability to travel to multi-campus sites as needed
  • Currently enrolled in a CSN's Nurse Assistant (NA), Practical Nurse (PN) or ADN program
  • Ability to stand for periods of 3 to 5 hours and walk for 2 to 3 hours
  • Must be able to bend and twist at the waist and reach above and below shoulder level
  • Ability to grasp, push, pull, and perform fine manipulation with both hands
  • Ability to lift at least 10–15 lbs

Nice To Haves

  • Current third or fourth-semester nursing student in ADN program
  • Checked off on all NURS 115 skills

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the set-up and breakdown of lab carts, simulation settings, and equipment for scheduled sessions and labs.
  • Ensure all lab equipment is in proper working order and perform routine cleaning of equipment and lab rooms.
  • Assist with stocking, organizing, and tracking lab equipment and supplies to prevent operational delays.
  • Participate in open labs and provide technical guidance to students on the correct use of lab equipment and supplies.
  • Strictly adhere to OSHA Guidelines and all established lab safety and security protocols.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills when interacting with students, faculty, and staff.
