About The Position

Performs phlebotomy, processes patient specimens, and completes patient registration using the Laboratory computer system. Prepares specimens for transport to reference laboratories, maintains department inventory, and operates and maintains equipment. Performs clerical duties and follows patient identification, laboratory safety, and department policies and procedures. Promotes teamwork with members of the healthcare team and performs duties in a manner consistent with St. Luke’s mission and values.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Phlebotomy certification.
• Previous inpatient phlebotomy experience required.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy.
• Process patient specimens and perform patient registration.
• Use the Laboratory computer system.
• Prepare specimens to be sent to reference laboratories.
• Maintain department inventory.
• Operate and maintain equipment.
• Perform clerical duties.
• Adhere to patient identification, laboratory safety, and department policies and procedures.
