We are looking for a Lab Assistant II who is passionate about patient care, problem-solving, and ensuring smooth operations. This role is a vital part of the patient care process, involving the processing, preparation, routing, and transportation of laboratory specimens. The position also includes courier duties, preparing supply orders, and safe operation of a motor vehicle in various conditions. The role operates within a laboratory environment with biological hazards and requires adherence to PPE guidelines, safety, compliance, and quality control.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- A valid driver's license and an excellent driving record for the past three years
- Confidence operating a vehicle in all weather and traffic conditions and navigating routine hazards of the road
- Ability to operate general laboratory equipment, including but not limited to: telephones, computers, centrifuges, and audible alarms.
- Physical capability of light to medium lifting (up to 50 lbs).
Nice To Haves
- 1 - 2 years of related experience in clinical laboratory, data entry, or production
Responsibilities
- Perform a vital part of the patient care process by making sure laboratory specimens are properly processed, prepared, routed, and transported between the laboratory and healthcare provider locations.
- Fulfill a hybrid lab assistant role that includes courier duties, preparing supply orders, and ensuring safe operation of a motor vehicle -- rain or shine!
- Work in a laboratory environment with biological hazards and PPE requirements.
- Champion safety, compliance, and quality control.
