About The Position

The Lab Assistant I provides phlebotomy services to in-house patients, outpatients, and at off-site locations. The role performs venipuncture and capillary collection for patients ranging from neonates to geriatrics, verifies patient identification, and transports specimens according to laboratory standards. The Lab Assistant I also performs clerical duties, including entering patient orders in the Laboratory Information System (LIS), and processes specimens for the core laboratory. Excellent listening and communication skills are essential.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent listening and communication skills.
• Valid driver's license is required for the Vineland assignment; it may be required depending on job assignment.

Nice To Haves

• Graduate of an approved Phlebotomy Training School.
• Phlebotomy experience.
• Hospital experience.
• ASCP, NPA, or equivalent certification, or eligibility for certification.

Responsibilities
