About The Position

The Lab Animal Caretaker will provide basic animal husbandry care on a daily basis. This includes providing food, water, and clean cages to all animals as assigned, and maintaining animal room sanitation on a scheduled basis. The role involves daily observation and examination of animals for signs of illness, injury, and/or behavioral changes. The caretaker is also responsible for observing and recording environmental conditions such as humidity and temperature, maintaining hallways, storage areas, procedure, and cage wash areas in a clean and organized manner, and performing other related duties as assigned. Knowledge in basic husbandry is required, and the caretaker may assist the attending Veterinarian and/or Veterinary Technician in performing treatments or procedures on animals.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year experience in laboratory animal science related field
  • Assist Laboratory Animal Tech
