The Talbot Lab (Basic Sciences Division) is looking for a reliable, organized, detail-oriented individual, to support ongoing exciting research on neuro-immunology, gut microbiota and infectious diseases. This is ideal for an individual who is interested in an entry-level introduction to a research lab environment and has an interest in mouse as a genetic organism for biomedical research. The time commitment will range from 4 hours per day and will not exceed 12 hours per week. A commitment of at least one year is expected. Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent with an interest in the sciences.

Nice To Haves

Completion of college-level coursework in biology.
Current enrollment in an undergraduate degree.
Attention to detail and accurate record-keeping skills.
Basic computer skills and comfort with learning new software systems.
Familiarity with Excel spreadsheets.
Ability to learn new tools and content quickly and independently.
Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

Assist with regular maintenance of our mouse colony, which consists in animal biopsy, breeding and weaning.
Maintain electronic spreadsheet for the mouse colony
General lab cleaning and organization.
Assisting lab members with experiments.
Perform other duties as required.
Work collaboratively within the Talbot Lab and with Hutch and external collaborators.
Show respect to all members of the lab and the broader Hutch community.
