About The Position
This is a full-time Lab Aide position. The role involves collecting blood specimens from patients to help facilitate testing by laboratory technologists. The position may work varying shifts including nights, weekends and holidays. The salary range displayed represents the typical salary of candidates hired. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role. The typical candidate is hired below midpoint of the range.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent, required
- Strong communication skills
- Pay close attention to detail
- Eager to learn how to collect blood specimens from patients
Nice To Haves
- Certified Phlebotomist, preferred
Responsibilities
- Record daily temperatures of incubators, blood bank, refrigerators and other equipment to ensure the quality of supplies and specimens
- Utilize the Laboratory computerized management system to ensure timely and accurate record keeping, patient test ordering and billing, along with other specimen/billing processes.
- Answer phones, fax results and handle requests for patient results. Copy, fax and file lab reports.
- Schedule and perform procedures.
- Draw blood by venipuncture, and/or capillary techniques.
- Monitor inventory, order and stock supplies.
