About The Position

This PRN Lab Aide position involves collecting blood specimens from patients to help facilitate testing by laboratory technologists. The role requires strong communication skills, close attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with different groups of people in a variety of departments. The position may work varying shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent, required

Nice To Haves

Certified Phlebotomist, preferred

Responsibilities

Record daily temperatures of incubators, blood bank, refrigerators and other equipment to ensure the quality of supplies and specimens.
Utilize the Laboratory computerized management system to ensure timely and accurate record keeping, patient test ordering and billing, along with other specimen/billing processes.
Answer phones, fax results and handle requests for patient results. Copy, fax and file lab reports.
Schedule and perform procedures.
Draw blood by venipuncture, and/or capillary techniques.
Monitor inventory, order and stock supplies.
