About The Position

L2 Onsite Engineer Position Overview: We are seeking experienced L2 Onsite Engineers to support a short-term, high-visibility hardware modification project. This is a six-week engagement requiring full-time onsite support. Selected resources will operate as part of a travel team, supporting three designated locations. The primary objective of this role is to perform hardware-level modifications on Dell laptop systems, specifically removing camera and microphone modules in accordance with project requirements. Phase 1 includes 1,000 units, with the full project scope totaling 6,000 units. This role is ideal for experienced technical professionals who are comfortable working in secure environments and performing precision hardware modifications within a structured project timeline.

Requirements

• Active Secret Clearance (required).
• Hands-on experience with laptop hardware disassembly and reassembly.
• Familiarity with Dell enterprise laptop models preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical procedures.
• Ability to travel between multiple sites during the project duration.
• Professional demeanor and ability to work effectively in secure environments.
• Ability to lift and handle IT equipment as required.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in large-scale device refresh or modification projects.
• Experience working in secure or government environments.
• L2 desktop support or hardware technician experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical removal of camera and microphone modules from designated Dell laptop models.
• Support modification efforts across three assigned locations as part of a mobile technical team.
• Handle, track, and process approximately 1,000 devices during Phase 1, with scalability for additional project phases.
• Ensure all hardware modifications are completed in compliance with security and technical guidelines.
• Maintain proper documentation of completed work and inventory tracking.
• Follow established safety and security protocols when handling equipment.
• Collaborate with project leads and onsite stakeholders to ensure timely project completion.
