About The Position

The Training Manager is responsible for managing the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of professional development initiatives across the organization. Reporting to the Associate Director of Training, this role ensures that training programs are high-quality, impactful, and aligned with organizational priorities and best practices in youth development and adult learning. The Training Manager directly oversees Senior Trainers and Trainer Associates, providing day-to-day leadership, coaching, and performance management while ensuring the successful execution of training initiatives. The Training Manager will be developing training content and material while also providing comprehensive support to the training team, ensuring the successful attainment of team objectives and quality training experiences. This role bridges strategy and execution—translating organizational goals into effective, engaging learning experiences that support staff success and program quality.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of experiential learning theory and adult learning principles.
  • Strong understanding of youth development, expanded learning programs, and education systems, particularly in high-need communities.
  • Experience in training design, facilitation, and program implementation.
  • Commitment to data-driven decision-making, evaluation, and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI).
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships across teams and departments.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Proficiency in digital tools (Canva, Microsoft Teams, Adobe, Microsoft Office Suite, Forms, Planner, PPTX).
  • Stable internet access.

Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Management
  • Supervise and support a team of Senior Trainers and Trainer Associates, providing ongoing coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback.
  • Establish clear expectations, goals, and accountability structures for team members.
  • Conduct regular check-ins, team meetings, and performance evaluations to support staff growth and effectiveness.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team culture.
  • Training Design & Development
  • Lead the development of engaging, high-quality training content aligned with organizational goals, program needs, and adult learning principles.
  • Collaborate with the Associate Director of Training to ensure alignment with broader training strategy and priorities.
  • Oversee the creation and refinement of training materials, including workshops, academies, and train-the-trainer models.
  • Ensure all training content reflects best practices in experiential learning and youth development.
  • Training Delivery & Execution
  • Oversee and support the facilitation of trainings across the team to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery.
  • Lead and facilitate trainings as needed, both in-person and virtually.
  • Coordinate and manage logistics for training events, including scheduling, materials, and communication.
  • Ensure a positive and engaging learning experience for all participants
  • Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement
  • Implement and monitor quality standards aligned with Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) practices.
  • Review training materials and delivery to ensure consistency, accuracy, and effectiveness.
  • Identify opportunities to improve training systems, processes, and participant experience.
  • Data & Evaluation
  • Collect and analyze data related to training effectiveness, including participant feedback, assessments, and performance outcomes.
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify skill gaps and inform training priorities.
  • Use data to refine training programs and support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to the Associate Director of Training.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with internal teams and program leaders to identify training needs and ensure alignment with field operations.
  • Support organizational initiatives by aligning training efforts with programmatic and strategic goals.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure training relevance and impact.
  • Operations & Project Management
  • Manage multiple training projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and high-quality execution.
  • Support the planning and implementation of large-scale training initiatives and events.
  • Maintain organized systems for tracking training progress, materials, and outcomes
  • Culture & Organizational Alignment
  • Model organizational values through leadership, communication, and professional conduct.
  • Contribute to a positive organizational culture that prioritizes learning, collaboration, and excellence.
