Kubernetes Platform Engineer, Infrastructure

Mural Group•Madison, MS
•$184,800 - $302,500•Remote

About The Position

Mural Group is recruiting on behalf of a late-stage AI cloud company backed by NVIDIA and valued in the billions. The company operates AI compute from data centers around the world and is building a managed Kubernetes platform that turns large fleets of bare-metal compute into dedicated, isolated clusters for customers running AI training and inference. The engineer will join early on the platform and own components end to end, from design through production operation. The role is remote for now and requires the employee to be based in Dallas, San Francisco, or New York City. A hybrid arrangement is planned further down the road. Compensation is listed at $184,800–$250,000 for L4 and $223,600–$302,500 for L5 (Senior). The posting says compensation is not an issue for the right person, the bonus is folded into base, and there is an equity component on top.

Responsibilities

  • Build APIs, controllers, operators, and automation that extend Kubernetes.

  • Diagnose production issues across application, Kubernetes, network, and compute layers.
  • Handle retries, failures, concurrency, and reconciliation correctly.
  • Work with infrastructure, inference, networking, and security teams and contribute to design decisions.

Benefits
