About The Position

Prescient Edge is seeking a Kubernetes Engineer to support a Federal Government client. This position is contingent upon contract award. The role involves configuring, deploying, and maintaining Kubernetes clusters for various IL environments (IL2, IL4, IL5) to support ESRI ArcGIS services and integrate with agency infrastructure. Responsibilities include developing and managing Helm charts and Kubernetes Operators for declarative deployment and automated scaling of ESRI services, configuring persistent volume claims and container-native storage, and integrating Kubernetes-native monitoring and logging solutions for observability and IL-compliant reporting.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and capability to design, deploy, and manage containerized applications in a cloud-native environment using Kubernetes.
  • Proficiency in Kubernetes cluster orchestration, container networking, Helm chart deployment, and automation of CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure services (AWS, Azure, GCP), security best practices, and Kubernetes monitoring/logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
  • Demonstrated experience in deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters, troubleshooting containerized applications, and implementing service mesh architectures such as Istio or Linkerd.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cloud Computing, or a related field, or five (5) years of equivalent experience in Kubernetes administration.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, deploy, and maintain Kubernetes clusters tailored for each IL environment (IL2, IL4, IL5), ensuring support for ESRI ArcGIS services and integration with agency-provided infrastructure.
  • Develop and manage Helm charts and Kubernetes Operators for declarative deployment and automated scaling of ESRI services, including Notebook Server and GeoAnalytics Server.
  • Configure persistent volume claims and provision container-native storage (e.g., AWS EBS, Azure Disks) to support ESRI workloads, ensuring durability and compliance with backup and recovery policies.
  • Integrate Kubernetes-native monitoring and logging solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Fluentd, or OpenTelemetry) to support observability and IL-compliant reporting across environments.
