About The Position
Bonneville Phoenix internships are semester-long opportunities for college students to gain a fuller understanding of the broadcast industry and expand their skill sets. This internship is in our News/Talk department. This position is an onsite role that requires the employee to regularly work at our Phoenix site.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be currently registered as a college/university student, eligible to receive internship credit through their educational institution.
- Basic computer knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Learn all aspects of the radio newsroom by experiencing it first-hand.
- Pull audio, learn how to conduct interviews and create content for on-air and online distribution.
- Learn the ins and outs of producing a quality talk show while developing and honing talk host skills.
- Observe and interact with talk show producers and hosts.
- Edit and produce talk show podcasts/interviews.
- Learn how to operate the on-air audio console.
- Help select stories for talk shows.
- Observe the talk show prep process.
- Learn how to screen talk show callers.
