About The Position

This course introduces students to the key debates in contemporary cultural studies through a thematic and critical approach to culture. Contemporary cultural practices, institutions and forms will be explored by means of case studies, experiential learning opportunities and creative projects. Applicants may apply for one KS101 tutorial and will be assessed for all tutorials posted. Applicants will be assessed using “Appendix H: Assessment of CTF Candidates” and the CS Rubric. Tutorials will be offered to applicants in descending order of Appendix H scoring.

Requirements

  • PhD in Cultural Studies or a cognate discipline.
  • Demonstrated scholarly record in the subject area of the posted tutorial.
  • CV (required).
  • Candidate Application Form (CAF) (required).
  • Names and Contact Information for Referees (required for external applicants).
  • Evidence of Good Teaching (required for external applicants).
  • Verification of highest degree (required for external applicants).

  • Teaching Dossier (optional, may include statement of teaching philosophy, past taught syllabi, prospective syllabi/course outlines, teaching evaluations, other evidence of good teaching).
  • Sample Course Outline (2-pages maximum).

Responsibilities

  • Deliver tutorial sessions for KS101T3 Exploring Cultural Studies.
  • Explore contemporary cultural practices, institutions, and forms through case studies, experiential learning, and creative projects.
  • Assess students based on the criteria outlined in "Appendix H: Assessment of CTF Candidates" and the CS Rubric.
