About The Position

This position is contingent upon contract award (or funding approval). Applicants will be contacted as updates become available. Thompson Gray is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Knowledge Manager to support our Formation Based Mission Autonomy (FBMA) effort at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. The Knowledge Manager will develop and sustain knowledge-management, data, and AI-enabled workflow capabilities that improve program synchronization, decision support, and organizational effectiveness. The ideal candidate will work with program leadership, subject-matter experts, and technical teams to build and maintain the FBMA Knowledge Notebook/Data Lake; develop dashboards and knowledge products; and support the design, integration, and maintenance of approved AI-enabled workflows and agents.

Requirements

  • Must possess an active Secret security clearance or higher.
  • Relevant experience includes knowledge management, data management, systems integration, digital transformation, data analytics, workflow automation, or related technical/programmatic disciplines.
  • Demonstrated experience developing knowledge-management strategies, processes, repositories, governance models, or collaboration environments.
  • Experience translating operational, programmatic, or business needs into practical knowledge, data, workflow, or automation solutions.
  • Experience with data analysis, visualization, dashboards, and performance metrics.
  • Familiarity with artificial intelligence, generative AI, workflow automation, application programming interfaces (APIs), or related technologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Teams, SharePoint, and related collaboration tools.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • High school diploma or equivalent with 14 years of relevant experience; associate's degree with 12 years; bachelor's degree with 10 years; master's degree with 8 years; or Ph.D. with 5 years.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting U.S. Army, Department of Defense, acquisition, research and development, test and evaluation, or program-executive-office organizations.
  • Experience with data architecture, data lakes, knowledge graphs, vector databases, or enterprise knowledge repositories.
  • Experience with AI-enabled assistants, retrieval-augmented generation, workflow automation, or agent orchestration tools.
  • Experience with Power BI, Microsoft Power Platform, SharePoint, SQL, Python, or similar analytics and data-management tools.
  • Knowledge-management, project-management, Agile, data analytics, cloud, or related technical certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain knowledge-management plans, processes, governance, and performance measures.
  • Design and maintain knowledge repositories, taxonomies, metadata, and data workflows supporting the Knowledge Notebook/Data Lake.
  • Identify, document, and improve high-value program and staff workflows.
  • Develop, test, and maintain approved AI-enabled workflows, automations, and agents.
  • Support data architecture, prompt development, knowledge-base design, tool integration, and agent-performance evaluation.
  • Develop dashboards, visualizations, briefings, and decision-support products from program and enterprise data.
  • Establish data standards and support structured data collection during exercises, demonstrations, and experiments.
  • Capture and share lessons learned, after-action review insights, user feedback, and best practices.
  • Facilitate knowledge-management working groups and coordinate with stakeholders, data owners, and subject-matter experts.
  • Develop training, user guides, and standard operating procedures for knowledge-management tools and workflows.
  • Monitor data quality, workflow adoption, agent performance, and other key metrics; recommend improvements.
