About The Position

The Knockdown role supports continuous cheese production by supplying product to processing lines, preparing materials, and maintaining sanitation and housekeeping standards. This position follows standard operating procedures to ensure food safety, product quality, and efficient production flow.

Requirements

  • Ability to follow written procedures, safety requirements, and production schedules.
  • Basic math and reading skills to calculate usage and complete documentation accurately.
  • Ability to learn and perform multiple production support tasks and operate related equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail related to food safety, quality, and sanitation.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work scheduled hours, including overtime or weekends as required.
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the role, including lifting, standing, walking, and bending.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and comprehend English to ensure understanding of safety instructions, work procedures, policies, and communications essential to job performance.

Responsibilities

  • Supply production lines with sufficient cheese to meet customer requirements and prevent downtime.
  • Open cheese blocks, remove packaging, inspect for quality concerns, and prepare product for processing.
  • Operate equipment and assist with line support activities, including scraping belts or rollers and supporting cleanup.
  • Read and interpret production schedules, usage forms, and customer requirements to calculate material needs.
  • Accurately calculate pounds of cheese required for orders, accounting for trim, scrap, salvage, and rework.
  • Maintain Process Control Points (PCPs) and Critical Control Points (CCPs) and record data accurately in required systems.
  • Perform sanitation activities for production lines, including midweek and full cleanup operations.
  • Assist with product changeovers, including color, size, and style changes, to support efficient transitions.
  • Manage waste, scrap, salvage, and material handling, including emptying trash and cardboard into proper compactors.
  • Build, stack, band, and organize materials and containers to ensure safe handling and storage.
  • Assist with basic preventive maintenance activities as assigned.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), housekeeping standards, safety procedures, and personal protective equipment requirements.
  • Work with leaders and fellow partners to support food safety, partner safety, and production goals.
  • Perform other job‑related tasks as assigned.
