About The Position

The Knife Operator’s responsibilities include: Assists team members to produce quality product in an efficient manner while following HACCP, Good Manufacturing practices and production work lists. Accountable and Reports to: Director of Meat Operations, Production Managers and Supervisors. Positions that Report to you: None. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Maintaining and ensuring food safety. Report any food safety deviations to your supervisor immediately. Reports to work when scheduled and on time. Adheres to company policies and departmental guidelines. Follows production list provided by supervisor. Ability to understand weights/measures and identify correct packaging. Following company GMP’s and SOP’s. Portion cut product to specific weights. Must be able to sharpen knife. Perform various clean up duties such as cleaning scales, maintaining knives and others. Must be able to read and understand product dating requirements. Works alongside others on a line or independently to complete production and clean up requirements. Performs other job-related duties and assists in other areas of plant as needed. Other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Knife cutting skills.
  • Ability to sharpen a knife.
  • Attention to detail and follow through.
  • Ability to read and interpret written or verbal instructions.
  • Must be knowledgeable of safety program, procedures, sanitary practices and standards.
  • Frequent to constant handling, grasping, constant listening, talking, hearing, seeing, reading, dealing with people, influencing others, evaluating information, supervising a line.
  • Ability to adapt to changes throughout daily operation.
  • Ability to move, stand bend and lift throughout work shift.
  • Job requires standing/sitting in place for all of shift.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer food manufacturing and knife cutting experience.
