The Lead, Kitting/Assembly is responsible for the accurate and efficient building of bulk products into value-added packages for our customers. This position is part of the Set-Up team in our Kitting department. The role involves demonstrating proficiency in general worker duties, directing employees to complete kitting/assembly tasks, updating the SQDIP board, performing basic problem-solving, and reviewing work instructions. The Lead must understand and communicate job ticket information, anticipate supply needs, and ensure adequate inventory levels. They may also collect and review temporary worker timesheets, instruct, coach, and support personnel, and assist in duties when the supervisor is out, potentially providing direction to temporary workers. The position requires setting up production lines, obtaining first piece approval, controlling and adjusting machine settings, producing required kits by placing products, verifying quality, packaging, and ensuring product protection. Monitoring lines for optimal speed and quality, troubleshooting operational issues, and completing Load Tags are also key responsibilities. For mail processing, adherence to USPS regulations, applying postage and mailing labels, and completing necessary paperwork are required. The role also includes performing or facilitating maintenance on department equipment, tracking job costs/production hours, contributing to safety goals, and meeting productivity and quality standards. Overtime may be required.
