As a kitting associate is responsible for accurately assembling and organizing components into kits according to specified orders, ensuring all items meet quality and quantity standards before shipment. The role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and collaboration with production and logistics teams to optimize supply chain operations. In this role, the Kitter will obtain daily production schedules and identify the required materials for the quantity scheduled to run. Additionally, they will process the materials to the correct specifications utilizing Manufacturing Instructions to properly kit, package and label the product. After packaging the products, the Kitter will move the kits into the respective areas to be sold to the warehouse. This position is located in La Vergne, Tennessee

Requirements

  • At least one year of professional working experience and/or training with related experience.
  • Proven working experience with strong communication and partnering with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Proven working experience with multitasking.
  • Experience following instructions and complete assigned tasks in an unsupervised manner.
  • Comfortability working independently or on a team.
  • Comfortability standing for a long period of time.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect incoming goods for damage and count accuracy.
  • Stage components for assembly and reconcile kit components with Work Order.
  • Kit assemblers read Bills of Material (BOMs), pick lists, or work orders to gather the correct components and assemble kits according to specifications.
  • Inspect components for defects, verify part numbers, lot codes, and expiration dates, and perform visual or dimensional checks.
  • Discrepant items are rejected or quarantined through the NCM process.
  • Kanban replenishment points, or outbound shipping, following packaging standards to prevent damage.
  • Operate equipment and tools necessary to complete kitting process.
  • Work with team members to meet production schedules, support administrative tasks, and follow company policies and procedures.
  • Provide recommendations for process improvements and maintain a positive work ethic
  • Maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • The job requires working on a production line and often standing for long periods and adhering to safety protocols.
