About The Position

This position is primarily responsible for organizing kitting based on load schedules and for determining parts availability based on information in ERP system. The role involves observing safety regulations, reading work orders to determine kitting requirements, and using the ERP system to determine parts availability. The Kitter will follow directions to ascertain materials or parts to be moved with the use of forklifts, determine when parts are needed, and communicate requirements to the Fab department. Responsibilities also include monitoring and updating an Excel-based load schedule, prioritizing kits based on load schedules, and maintaining certifications for equipment use. The role requires manually loading and unloading parts up to 40 pounds, assisting with heavier loads, performing preventative maintenance checks on equipment, identifying materials and parts, and preparing production kits. Overtime may be required to support production needs. The Kitter must maintain a clean and ordered work area and perform other tasks as required to support operations and customer satisfaction, provided they can be performed safely and without special training.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and experience on different production lines for familiarity with different Marathon equipment models and associated fabricated parts.
  • Ability to understand general arithmetic.
  • Ability to write in an understandable manner.
  • Ability to understand verbal or written instructions.
  • Ability to read and understand instructions, lists, and billing materials.
  • Proficiency in PC based applications, including Mainstar, JD Edwards, Outlook, and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge normally acquired through high school or equivalent experience.
  • Normal attention with periods of high concentration intermittently to operate machinery approximately 50% of time.
  • Requires walking/standing approximately 30%, sitting approximately 50% and lifting up to 40 pounds approximately 20% of time.
  • Involves repetitive overhead work approximately 15% of time.
  • Involves repetitive stooping, forward bending and crouching approximately 10% of time.
  • Requires use of hands, arms and feet for repetitive lifting.
  • Requires use of hands and arms to operate all manufacturing equipment, meters, chains hoists, automatic drills and general hand tools.
  • Requires ability to record written information.
  • Ability to follow verbal instructions.
  • Ability to hear for safety purposes.
  • Ability to visually observe essential functions for satisfactory job performance and safety.
  • Color and depth perception required.

Responsibilities

  • Organize kitting based on load schedules.
  • Determine parts availability using the ERP system.
  • Observe all safety regulations and report unsafe working conditions.
  • Read work orders to determine kitting requirements.
  • Use forklifts to move materials or parts.
  • Determine when parts are needed and communicate requirements to the Fab department.
  • Monitor and update Excel-based load schedule with orders to be kitted and labeled.
  • Prioritize kits based on load schedules.
  • Maintain certification for forklift use or other required certifications.
  • Manually load and unload parts up to 40 pounds.
  • Assist employees with loading and unloading parts above 40 pounds.
  • Perform preventative maintenance checks on equipment prior to use.
  • Complete maintenance checklists and submit maintenance requests.
  • Identify materials and parts as required.
  • Support production requirements, which may include overtime.
  • Maintain work area and equipment clean and ordered.
  • Prepare production kits as required or assigned.
  • Perform any other task as required to support operations and customer satisfaction, provided it can be performed safely and without special training requirements.
