About The Position

KitchenAid Small Appliances (KASA) is currently seeking qualified candidates for our Project Leadership Office (PLO) as Technical Publications Analyst. The role is onsite based at Headquarters located in Benton Harbor, Michigan. The Technical Publications Analyst is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, accessibility, and high quality of all technical documentation. The Technical Publications Analyst bridges the gap between marketing/engineering data and end-user comprehension, managing the lifecycle of technical publications. Acting as a literature integrator, the Technical Publication Analyst aligns stakeholders, clarifies ownership, and drives consistent application of technical publication standards. The role will collaborate crossfunctionally to translate product usages into documents relevant and meaningful to consumers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Writing, Communications, Business or Engineering
  • 1+ years of experience in technical writing, product documentation layout, graphic data coordination, or product development lifecycle management
  • 1+ years of experience leading cross-functional project teams within consumer product development

Responsibilities

  • Dedicated resource working for Product Literature and Labels related coordination and activities.
  • Single point of contact for Platform and Project teams to ask questions and submit requests related to Literature and Labels.
  • Act as a single point of contact for any on-site interaction-related-support for GTEC Product Literature team and Graphic Design resource.
  • Attend project Intake Event and/or pre-G1 tollgate activities to align on Literature need and timeline when necessary. Drive adherence to aligned process maps.
  • Take pictures, videos or any other kind of necessary information for execution of literature on higher complexity projects. Cascade this information to GTEC for job execution. Occasionally, support GTEC by implementing minor changes to literature (e.g., wordings, line drawings, translations, etc.).
  • Communicate with Project Teams regarding status of all Literature and Labels on projects, in case of any delays in getting inputs, approvals or clarification requested. Set-up and lead regular meetings with key stakeholders from the Project Teams on higher complexity projects.
  • Coordinate with different functions such as Product Safety, Codes, Marketing, Engineering, and Legal for approvals/clarifications of requested changes.
  • Send instructions/clarify mark-ups to GTEC team to update Literature (proof composite) and attend GTEC weekly meetings.
  • Attend engineering builds or review prototypes as necessary to get information about product Literature.
  • Apply knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to project activities to meet project requirements. Utilize Whirlpool approved AI tools to assist in various aspects of the Literature creation process (e.g., line art creation, sentence enhancement, etc.).
  • Lead/Support creation of Product Literature CR for the platform teams. This involves, pulling part numbers, adding to Bill of Materials, creating Change Notices and working with Procurement to ensure PPAP is delivered on time.
  • Develops detailed work plans, schedules, dependencies, project estimates, resource plans, prioritization, and status reports based on project scope and objectives. Responsible for project tracking and analysis including management of project risks. Develops plans to mitigate risks and resolve issues.
  • Takes ownership for project delivery results through influence and leadership of team members/leaders.
  • Lead/support Platform Literature/Labels CI initiatives.
  • Support sharing of best practices and tips for Product Literature execution across platforms by participating in Cross Category Meetings.
  • Stakeholder management and influencing skills, with proven ability to align diverse functions and geographies.
  • Ability and flexibility to work with the Global team that may require meetings outside regular working hours.
