About The Position

The function of the Kitchen Worker (KW) is to support the operations of the Ladore catering program, including preparing and serving food, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and adhering to food standards.

Requirements

• H.S. diploma/GED required.
• Must pass Servsafe class offered by the Salvation Army.
• Must be good with people
• Able to lift 50 pounds.
• Able to be on feet for long periods of time.
• Ability to handle a high paced and often intense work environment.
• Ability to multitask and adapt to changing environment.
• Pennsylvania's Child Protective Services Law requires that all prospective employees complete the following clearance and background checks: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and PA DHS Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check. In addition, completion of a Pennsylvania approved Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting Training is necessary prior to employment.
• Must understand and support for the Mission of The Salvation Army.

Responsibilities

• Assist with food prep/serving/and dining room care
• Wash dishes/pans from meals as assigned
• Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen/dining room areas
• Observe all sanitation rules for food services
• Observe material handling guidelines for all chemicals
• Maintain neat and uniform appearance during work hours
• Perform related duties, as assigned
