About The Position

Elderwood Assisted Living at Hamburg is Hiring a Part-Time Kitchen Utility Associate. This role is responsible for ensuring the health and well-being of residents by managing dish room tasks, including clearing, soaking, scraping, washing, air drying, and putting away china and utensils. The associate also assists with daily cleaning duties of food production areas and sanitation tasks.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 16 years of age
  • Employment Certificate/Permit required for applicable individuals
  • Prior customer service experience
  • ServSafe certification or willingness to obtain
  • Physical stamina necessary for constant activity
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level.

Nice To Haves

  • HS diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior food service, hospitality, serving, or restaurant experience desired

Responsibilities

  • Clears, scrapes, and loads dishes and utensils into the dish machine, then unloads and puts away dishes after air drying.
  • Cleans dish machine, sinks, and counters, and removes all garbage from the work area and kitchen.
  • Keeps work area equipment clean and in good condition.
  • Disposes of garbage properly in the outside receptacle.
  • Mops floors in the work area after each meal.
  • Follows daily cleaning lists.
  • Helps clear dining room tables when needed.
  • Helps with receiving and storing food deliveries.
  • Replenishes soap for sinks and detergent for the dish machine as needed.
  • Attends facility meetings, staff meetings, and required or preferred in-services.
  • Performs all position duties according to safety rules and standards of practice, ensuring the general safety of staff, residents, and visitors.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of all policies and procedures and the ability to reference them.
  • Utilizes the electronic timekeeping system as directed.
  • Arrives to work on time, regularly, and works as scheduled.
  • Recognizes and follows the facility's dress code, including wearing a name tag at all times.
  • Follows policy and procedure regarding all electronic devices, computers, tablets, etc.
  • Supports and abides by Elderwood’s Mission, Vision, and Values.
  • Abides by Elderwood’s business code of conduct, compliance, and HIPAA policies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor, management staff, or Administrator.
