About The Position

As a Kitchen Technician, you'll play a critical role in maintaining commercial kitchen equipment by performing deep cleaning, preventive maintenance, and equipment inspections that help ensure a safe, efficient, and compliant kitchen environment. Working both independently and as part of a team, you'll disassemble, clean, inspect, troubleshoot, and reassemble kitchen equipment. If you're mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and enjoy hands-on work where no two days are the same, we'd love to have you on our team!

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of fire prevention kitchen maintenance experience.
  • PECT Certification or the ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
  • OSHA 10 Certification.
  • General working knowledge of kitchen equipment.
  • Mechanical ability needed to disconnect and re-connect kitchen equipment.
  • Knowledge of how to safely work with a variety of chemicals on a daily basis.
  • Current NYS drivers' license.
  • Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time and lift up to 31 - 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Unhook gas lines to kitchen equipment; stoves, ovens, fryers, etc. Moves equipment as necessary so area is accessible to clean thoroughly.
  • Use appropriate kitchen cleaners, thoroughly cleans equipment inside and out, cleaning surrounding areas; walls, floors.
  • Return equipment to its original location and inspects equipment and gas lines to ensure proper working order.
  • Immediately report any equipment and/or exhaust fans and chutes that are not working properly to the Kitchen Technician Supervisor.
  • Ensure on the job safety, wears the appropriate personal protective equipment for the job. Concerned with the safety of the fellow employees as well as the general public, properly secures jobsite.
  • Work independently to complete assigned tasks, communicating as needed with Kitchen Supervisor to resolve issues and questions.
  • Troubleshoot and repair various cleaning equipment and cleaning machine malfunctions and repair or replace broken components.
  • Adhere to Company policies and procedures.
  • Act as a role model within and outside the Company.
  • Maintain a positive and respectful attitude.
  • Demonstrate flexible and efficient time management and ability to prioritize workload.
  • Consistently report to work on time prepared to perform duties of position.
