About The Position
The Kitchen Suppression Technician is responsible for inspecting, testing, and maintaining kitchen fire suppression systems, portable fire extinguishers, and emergency lighting systems at customer sites. This is a field-based role requiring travel to client locations to ensure all systems are compliant with NFPA standards and safety regulations. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to work independently. On-the-job training and factory certification will be provided to prepare for required licensing exams.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record required.
- OSHA 10 Certification required upon hire.
- Ability and willingness to learn suppression system maintenance and pursue additional certifications.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, test, and service kitchen fire suppression systems and portable fire extinguishers in accordance with NFPA standards.
- Install new extinguishers and replace outdated or non-compliant units.
- Inspect and test emergency exit lighting systems and pre-engineered kitchen suppression systems.
- Assist with troubleshooting and repairs of kitchen suppression systems as needed.
- Schedule inspection and service appointments directly with customers.
- Complete and submit accurate electronic inspection reports and documentation.
- Ensure all work complies with applicable safety standards, NFPA codes, and FEI policies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and company vehicle.
- Communicate effectively with customers, providing clear service explanations and recommendations.
- Represent FEI with professionalism, reliability, and strong customer focus.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
