About The Position

Responsible for à la carte food preparation, set-up and service. Will ensure proper production of food items required for all restaurant events and buffet set-ups. Prep for special food items as directed. Maintain a clean and sanitary environment, ensuring compliance with all local and state health codes. Enforce and abide by all policies established by the Club pertinent to the kitchen operation. This is a full-time, hourly position with occasional overtime. A successful Kitchen Supervisor possesses a positive attitude, strong work ethic and excellent communication skills. He/she is a dedicated culinary professional, a quick learner and able to successfully work in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Needs to be familiar with all activities of the kitchen to successfully prepare and cook food properly and ensure the Club’s high standards. This position requires taking, following, and at times, giving direction and must be professional and courteous while interacting with all staff. Must have a flexible schedule and the ability to work weekends and most holidays.

Requirements

  • Must speak and read in English.
  • Must be able to listen, give, and follow directions; speak clearly and concisely to maintain proper, effective communication with staff and club members.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, speaking and reading English.
  • Work quickly and accurately, both independently and as a part of a team.
  • Exercise good judgment, perform detailed tasks; understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions.
  • This position routinely requires sitting, standing, walking, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, holding, twisting, reaching, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift at least fifty pounds.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time and work in a hot, humid, and sometimes loud environment for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Requires a Texas State Food Handlers’ Safety Certificate

Nice To Haves

  • At least two years experience preparing food/cooking in a restaurant and/or food service environment.
  • Have a strong customer service background.
  • Must have a flexible schedule, personal vehicle, and be available to work weekends and most holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Expertly execute menu all menu items consistently and ensure team members do the same.
  • Sign off on all shift closing document requirements and ensure all tasks have been executed to the expectations set forth by the Executive Chef and Sous Chef including but not limited to: production items, station shutdown tasks, deep cleaning requirements, special projects, etc.
  • Taste and sign off on all prepped items done during the shift by all team members and ensure they are put away correctly.
  • Ensure proper training of all team members.
  • Executing ordering needs required by the leadership.
  • Consistently follow and enforce safe/sanitary food handling practices.
  • Ensure effective communication flows throughout the line during service
  • Maintain ticket times established by the leadership team
  • Effectively run inside the expo station when required and coordinate with servers and food runners to ensure food leaves organized and in a timely manner
  • Ensure workstations are clean as well as equipment.
  • Perform all other job-related duties/tasks as assigned by the Executive and/or Sous Chef
  • Be courteous, friendly, positive, and professional at all times.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Show initiative and enthusiasm in assisting members and staff while maintaining a professional manner.
  • Ability to give and follow directions.
  • Use discretion, work independently and/or as a team; lead/supervise staff.
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.
  • Assist with menu item creation for specials and any other requests given by leadership
