About The Position

The Kitchen Steward is responsible for ensuring that all dishes and cooking supplies are properly cleaned, and that all surrounding kitchen and service areas are kept clean, organized, and well maintained.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years old
  • High School Diploma and/or GED preferred.
  • Previous experience working in a kitchen or as a dishwasher is preferred.
  • The ability to take and follow directions well.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Must present a well-groomed appearance.
  • The ability to maintain composure in a fast paced, potentially stressful environment.
  • The ability to successfully interact with all levels of team members and management.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays, with variable overtime.
  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke, high noise levels, bright lights and dust.

Nice To Haves

  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Wash all dishes cleared from the dining areas.
  • Wash heavy pots, pans, and cooking utensils.
  • Dust, sweep, and mop various kitchen areas as needed.
  • Monitor kitchen garbage levels and empty bins when necessary.
  • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor during all interactions with guests, team members, and vendors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
