Brookhaven Market in Burr Ridge, IL is hiring a Full Time, onsite Kitchen Prep/Cook to keep our prepared foods case stocked with consistent, craveable results. Pay is $17–$20/hour. This Kitchen Prep/Cook role is all about solid execution: prep and cook menu items to standardized recipes, keep your workstation clean and organized, and stay sharp on food safety, sanitation, and temperature control. When things get busy, you’ll jump onto dishwashing, help receive deliveries, rotate inventory using FIFO, and support waste reduction so the kitchen runs smooth.

Requirements

• Knowledge of basic cooking techniques
• Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
• Familiarity with kitchen equipment and tools
• Understanding of inventory rotation (FIFO) and waste reduction practices
• Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
• Strong time management and multitasking abilities
• Knife skills and safe food preparation techniques
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Teamwork and communication skills
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 lbs
• Problem-solving skills during busy service times

Responsibilities

• Prep and cook menu items to standardized recipes
