About The Position

Join our team as a Kitchen Mechanic and help us maintain the highest standards of quality and safety in our kitchens. As a Kitchen Mechanic, you will be responsible for repairing commercial appliances such as ovens, fryers, grills, refrigerators, freezers, dishwashers, mixers, and ice machines. You will also be responsible for diagnosing electrical, gas, plumbing, and mechanical problems in kitchen equipment, performing preventive maintenance to reduce breakdowns, replacing worn or defective parts, and inspecting equipment for safety and code compliance. Additionally, you will read technical manuals, blueprints, and wiring diagrams, test equipment after repairs to ensure proper operation, maintain service records and repair logs, respond to emergency repair calls quickly, install new kitchen equipment and appliances, and work with maintenance teams, chefs, and facility managers. Following workplace safety procedures and handling tools properly is also a key part of this role.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • Familiarity with refrigeration and HVAC systems
  • Ability to use hand and power tools
  • Physical stamina for lifting and standing
  • Time-management and communication skills
  • Experience of 2-5 years preferred in hotel, resort, commercial or institutional maintenance environment.
  • HVAC or plumbing or electrical skills.
  • Light carpentry and knowledge of paint and wallpaper.
  • Meet minimum age requirements of jurisdiction.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Read, write and understand English.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in pool operation preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license preferred.
  • Preventive maintenance background preferred.
