About The Position

Join Tapley's Neighbourhood Pub as our Kitchen Manager and lead the heart of one of Whistler's favourite local pubs. Tapley's is known for great pub food, cold drinks, live sports, and welcoming hospitality. We're looking for a hands-on kitchen leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys building strong teams, maintaining high standards, and delivering consistently great food. This is a working leadership role where you'll spend time leading from the line while overseeing the day-to-day operation of the kitchen. You'll partner closely with the venue leadership team to ensure smooth service, manage food costs and inventory, develop your team, and create an environment where both guests and team members enjoy coming back.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of professional kitchen experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of kitchen operations, food safety, inventory, and cost control.
  • A hands-on leadership style with a passion for coaching and developing kitchen teams.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with ordering, scheduling, food costing, and inventory management.
  • Ability to maintain consistency, quality, and efficiency during busy service periods.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily kitchen operations and work alongside your team during prep and service.
  • Recruit, train, coach, and develop kitchen team members while fostering a positive and accountable culture.
  • Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and execution across every service.
  • Manage inventory, ordering, food costs, waste reduction, and labour efficiency.
  • Maintain food safety, cleanliness, and kitchen organization to the highest standards.
  • Build prep schedules and ensure stations are set up for smooth, efficient service.
  • Partner with the Business Leader and Front-of-House team to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
  • Support menu updates, seasonal features, and operational improvements that drive sales and profitability.
  • Monitor guest feedback and implement improvements that strengthen food quality and consistency.
  • Lead by example every shift, creating an environment built on teamwork, accountability, and pride in the product.
