About The Position

Tigg's Canteen Services is seeking an experienced, dependable, and motivated Kitchen Manager to oversee daily food service operations at the Miami County Jail in Peru, Indiana. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with leadership skills who enjoys working in a structured environment and is committed to providing high-quality food service while leading a successful team. As Kitchen Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring meals are prepared safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards. You'll supervise daily kitchen operations, support your team, and help maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Ability to obtain security clearance for entry into the correctional facility.
Availability to work weekends and holidays on a rotating schedule.
Demonstrates strong leadership and communication skills.
Has a positive attitude and excellent work ethic.
Can work effectively in a secure, structured correctional environment.
Can read and follow company recipes, policies, and procedures.
Is able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Takes pride in delivering quality food service and leading by example.

Nice To Haves

Previous food service, kitchen, or supervisory experience is preferred, but we are willing to train a motivated candidate with the right attitude and leadership potential.

Responsibilities

Manage the day-to-day operation of the kitchen.
Lead, train, and support kitchen staff.
Assist with food preparation, baking, cooking, serving, and clean-up.
Ensure company recipes, portion control, and food safety standards are followed.
Maintain sanitation and organization throughout the kitchen.
Monitor inventory and assist with ordering and product control.
Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment while maintaining professionalism within a correctional facility.
