About The Position

Kitchen Managers are responsible for all aspects of their restaurant’s kitchen operations, upholding promises to their Team, Guests, and the Business. They direct, lead, and coordinate the planning, organizing, training, and leadership necessary to achieve objectives in sales, costs, team member retention, guest service and satisfaction, food quality, cleanliness, and sanitation.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Kitchen Manager in a full-service or fast-casual restaurant.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including coaching, directing, and motivating a team.

  • Must be able to lift 30lbs frequently and up to 80lbs occasionally.
  • Responsible for utilizing office/restaurant equipment.

  • Must be able work under a high degree of stress on a physical, mental and emotional level.
  • Ability to perform work in a fast-paced manner and make timely decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Uphold promises to their Team, their Guests, and the Business.
  • Direct, lead, and coordinate planning, organizing, training, and leadership for kitchen operations.
  • Achieve objectives in sales, costs, team member retention, guest service and satisfaction, food quality, cleanliness, and sanitation.
  • Support Head Trainer to ensure training materials are consistently and effectively used.
  • Coach, train, and develop the Back of House team in their job roles for all work areas.
  • Provide the Back of House team with the tools, education, and experience to perform job descriptions to standards.
  • Ensure all new team members attend orientation and support trainers.
  • Conduct performance-oriented training and maintain accurate training records.
  • Support the manager-in-training program when needed.
  • Analyze own strengths and weaknesses and develop self-improvement objectives, goals, and an implementation plan.
  • Support the development of the leadership team in restaurant operations.
  • Deliver profitability of restaurant operations by operating within cost of goods and labor productivity guidelines.
  • Meet cost goals for food.
  • Meet labor goals, ensuring work is completed daily without overtime.
  • Hold kitchen team members accountable for negotiated product, labor, and operating account goals.
  • Prepare financial information accurately and on time, checking invoices for accuracy.
  • Conduct weekly inventories, extend with current pricing, validate, and create/execute appropriate action plans.
  • Provide input in the development of budgets, projections, goals, and objectives.
  • Practice sound security measures for people, monies, records, information, and equipment.
  • Follow administrative guidelines and procedures, completing and maintaining accurate records/paperwork.
  • Maintain and update team member personnel files.
  • Support the GM in conducting timely, effective Back of House performance reviews.
  • Support the GM in completing new hire forms properly and efficiently.
  • Complete proper forms for payroll and check payroll records for accuracy.
  • Develop and maintain schedules to match sales forecasts/budgets for Back of House team members.
  • Properly use and document Back of House team member disciplinary actions.
  • Complete assigned administrative duties accurately and on time.
  • Understand and promote the Hopdoddy culture, staying abreast of marketing and competitive issues/events.
  • Use industry knowledge to benefit the organization.
  • Seek and welcome opportunities to learn new techniques and tasks.

  • Provide direction to team members and exceed guest expectations.
  • Ensure product inventory is maintained and sufficient to support operations.
  • Ensure scheduled preventative maintenance and regular cleaning are completed.
  • Perform other related duties, tasks, and responsibilities as required.
  • Provide warm Hopdoddy Hospitality with a smile and eye contact.
  • Interact effectively with guests, providing them an excellent dining experience.
  • Establish guest service and satisfaction as a priority.
  • Utilize the “Guest Right of Way” always.
  • Proactively handle guest complaints with urgency, poise, and good judgment.
  • Monitor guest feedback daily.
  • Motivate Back of House team members to learn and perform quality work.
  • Develop teamwork and provide quality time with Back of House team members through the open-door policy.
  • Respond in a timely manner to all team member needs, concerns, and complaints.
  • Regularly praise and effectively coach all team members.
