About The Position

Stone Creek Coffee is seeking a Kitchen Manager to help lead our Downe Kitchen Team. As a key member of the Stone Creek Coffee Kitchen Team, you will help realize our vision to bring coffee centric food choices that reflect Project E.A.T: Elegant, Accessible, and Transparent. The Kitchen Manager role exists as the main administrative presence in the Stone Creek Coffee Kitchens. Our Kitchen Managers begin their journey with Stone Creek Coffee as a Kitchen Manager in Training. The Kitchen Manager will work to ensure that the Stone Creek Kitchen team and financials are healthy and that all operations are running smoothly. While they complete administrative duties, their primary focus is the health and performance of their team and kitchen operations on the floor. Their work with their team to ensure every person coming into a Stone Creek Coffee Cafe experiences “Remarkable Care.”

Requirements

  • Leadership and Team Development: Coaching team members, setting clear expectations, and fostering a positive, collaborative work environment.
  • Financial and Inventory Management: Managing budgets, analyzing sales reports, controlling labor costs, and overseeing inventory.
  • Operational Efficiency and Multitasking: Managing day-to-day operations while balancing administrative tasks and team coordination in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Enhancing verbal and written communication for clarity, alignment, and strong relationships.
  • Knowledge of Food Safety and Compliance: Understanding local health regulations, sanitation practices, and workplace safety standards.
  • Able to stand and walk for the majority of an 8-hour shift.
  • Able to transport up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to climb stairs daily.
  • Able to work with kitchen equipment including ovens, knives, and stoves safely.
  • Occasional exposure to heat and cool temperatures.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing Stone Creek Kitchen’s financial contribution, including managing and understanding labor and expenses, and ensuring financial goals are met.
  • Ensuring the Stone Creek Kitchen is adequately staffed and operating smoothly, including creating weekly schedules, projecting labor, and overseeing hiring needs.
  • Supporting staffing/schedule gaps and proactively identifying and communicating team-level and operational risks.
  • Promoting healthy team dynamics and morale.
  • Maintaining the highest food safety and cleanliness standards, observing all Food Safety guidelines and protocols.
  • Ordering appropriate items and quantities to support kitchen production, sourcing cost-effective and high-quality products, and responding to changes in business volume.
  • Coordinating the smooth execution of all product launches, including ordering required materials like marketing, recipes, and ingredients.
  • Having difficult conversations about performance, compensation, and workplace dynamics with clarity and professionalism.
  • Keeping commitments or communicating in advance with an updated plan if unable to keep a commitment.
  • Crafting development plans for team members and providing regular, specific feedback on work quality, personal growth, and potential career paths.
  • Tracking team financial performance against budget lines and crafting plans to improve financial performance.
