Big Woods Pizza in Nashville, IN is seeking an experienced Kitchen Manager for a pivotal role with a range of responsibilities and an attractive benefits package.

Requirements

  • Culinary education or experience.
  • 1 year minimum in supervisory capacity of a restaurant.
  • Organizational skills to oversee various aspects of kitchen operations.
  • Inventory management, scheduling and food preparation.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills-must be able to lead and motivate the BOH team effectively.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations.
  • Budgeting and cost control- ability to manage budgets, ordering supplies, and controlling costs.
  • Problem-solving abilities-must be able to think quickly on your feet and arrive at creative solutions to problems as they arise.
  • Time management skills - ability to prioritize tasks effectively to ensure that everything gets done on time.
  • Flexibility - able to adapt to changing circumstances and remain calm under pressure.
  • Current Serv-Safe Certification required, or able to obtain within 3 months of hire date.

Responsibilities

  • Kitchen Leadership: Efficiently manage and lead the kitchen team. This includes monitoring, training, and fostering employee development. Lead each shift by assigning duties, tasks, and providing guidance to all team members.
  • Service Flow Optimization: Create weekly kitchen asset schedules that align with projected demands, ensuring a smooth service flow at all kitchen stations.
  • Inventory and Procurement: Assist with inventory control, including ordering, rotation, monitoring, and accepting orders for all food and kitchen products, with a focus on minimizing food waste.
  • Hygiene and Organization: Maintain and enforce high standards of cleanliness and organization throughout the kitchen. Continuously monitor food quality and temperatures to adhere to Health and Safety regulations.
  • Culinary Proficiency: Be proficient in all aspects of the kitchen and be ready to assist when necessary. Ensure all food items are prepared in accordance with Big Woods' standards of quality, consistency, and timeliness.
  • Ad Hoc Responsibilities: Be adaptable and ready to tackle additional tasks and duties as needed.
