About The Position

The Kitchen Line Cook is responsible for preparing food items in accordance with production requirements and quality standards while maintaining a safe, sanitary work environment. The St. Anthony Hotel, a AAA Four Diamond luxury hotel in downtown San Antonio, Texas, is seeking a part-time Kitchen Line Cook for Esencia | Anacacho Coffee & Cantina. The hotel, a national historic site opened in 1909, embodies old-world splendor and offers easy access to local attractions. Requirements

  • At least one year of culinary experience is required.
  • Must be able to work flexible shifts that include evening, weekends, and holidays.
  • The ideal candidate will be organized and able to work with a sense of urgency and seeking guest satisfaction.
  • Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry, or otherwise, transport up to 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • TABC certified, Tips Trained and Food Handlers certification are all highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards and production and portion standards, per check from servers.
  • Start food items that are prepared ahead of time, making sure not to over prepare estimated needs.
  • Date all food containers and rotate as per Crescent standards, making sure that all perishables are kept at proper temperatures.
  • Check pars for shift use, determine necessary preparation, freezer pull and line set up. Note any out-of-stock items or possible shortages. Assist in keeping buffet stocked.
  • Return all food items not used on next shift to designated storage areas, being sure to cover/date all perishables.
  • Assist in setting up plans and actions to correct any food cost problems, control food waste, loss and usage per Crescent standards.
  • Operate, maintain and properly clean deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, food processor, mixer, slicer, oven steam table, tilt kettle, waffle iron and flat top grill.
  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
