About The Position

The Delta St. John's Hotel is a 403-room, fast-paced, high-volume conference hotel seeking a qualified Kitchen Helper. This is a full-time permanent position. We foster a strong service culture and team environment to meet the needs of our guests and associates. This position involves evenings and weekends.

Requirements

Minimum one year Hotel and/or Restaurant experience necessary.
Ability to take direction from all levels of supervision.
Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision.
Must be well organized and self-motivated.
Must be able to handle problems and make sound decisions under pressure.
Must demonstrate behavior consistent with core values.
Must practice a high level of personal hygiene conducive to a professional cooking environment.
Must be a team-oriented individual with good interactive skills.
Must practice and maintain Delta standards.
A Valid Open Work permit is required.
Must be certified with Food Allergy training as required.

Nice To Haves

Culinary certification preferred.
Food Safety Certificate an asset.

Responsibilities

Complete assigned work to hotel standards and ensure area meets Occupational Health & Safety and Sanitation standards.
Assist in daily food preparation relevant to the assigned area.
Maintain cleanliness of work station.
Prepare and maintain par stock levels.
Other duties as assigned.
