Requirements

  • 1-2 years kitchen experience (required)
  • Excellent listening skills and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work under pressure, while maintaining a professional image at all times
  • Work independently with little direct supervision
  • Have a well-balanced concern for both task and people
  • Have a genuine concern for needs of customers

Nice To Haves

  • High School or GED from an accredited school system or program is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize providing exceptional customer service to deliver a positive customer experience thereby cultivating a positive reputation for the company and fostering customer loyalty.
  • Helping the Kitchen Cooks in seasoning and preparing high-quality foods according to company recipes.
  • Helping the Kitchen Cooks with testing foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently, using methods such as tasting, smelling, or piercing them with utensils.
  • Weighing and/or measuring ingredients, garnishing, portioning, plating, serving, or packaging food accordingly.
  • Helping to monitor the temperature of the ovens and stoves as well as cooking times.
  • Washing, peeling, and cutting meats, cheeses, fruits, vegetables, etc.
  • Managing all food order slips and ensuring that customers’ orders are completed in a timely manner.
  • Using kitchen utensils such as knives, peelers, and graters to perform various food tasks.
  • Ensuring that all utensils and cooking equipment are sterilized before and after each use.
  • Monitoring and estimating inventory and placing orders for more supplies as needed.
  • Assisting supervisor in planning and pricing current and future menu items.
  • Disposing of expired or spoiled ingredients and recording as Shrink at the end of each shift.
  • Keeping records of the quantities of food used and consumed.
  • Taking temperature of food and food storage areas such as refrigerators and freezers.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing the kitchen as needed in accordance with the company cleaning standards.
  • Answering the telephone and taking customer orders.
  • Providing strong customer service.
  • Promoting products and services that ICS offers.
  • Representing ICS both in and out of the store.
  • Adhering to all food safety protocols, standard operating procedures, health and safety policies, and other programs and initiatives.
  • Other duties as required
