The Machine Operations Kitchen Cook will be responsible for operating hot pans while maintaining all aspects of the kitchen cooking process and following operation formulas according to customer requirements. This process includes daily preparation, mixing and blending sugar solutions and ingredients. The operator will maintain 5s, clean and organize, changeovers (SSOP), HACCP forms, and consumption of materials. This role will perform a diversity of functions, including the packaging of items produced. The kitchen cook will communicate and document efficiency standards while reporting inefficiencies to the department supervisor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED and/or equivalent education.
  • Demonstrate cooperative behavior with co-workers, supervisors, and managers.
  • Basic math, communication, computer, and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to convert measurements into weight.
  • Knowledge of linear measurement, percentages, and ratios.
  • Ability to communicate in English and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work with computer systems.
  • Must have mechanical skills to troubleshoot and/or make adjustments as necessary to ensure a quality product.
  • Work well under pressure, able to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Good attendance is a condition of employment.
  • Must wear proper personal protective equipment including uniform, face mask, hair net, latex gloves, bump cap, earplugs, and safety shoes
  • Will be standing on concrete, bending, stooping, twisting, and turning for an extended period of time
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Required to work weekends during peak season and/or overtime when needed

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and prepare equipment prior to start-up.
  • Fill out material worksheets and production reports for all production in the kitchen.
  • Report any problems (equipment, material shortages, formulas, and employees) to the supervisor as they occur.
  • Ensure efficient production and report scrap according to procedures.
  • Report total amount of finished product, full, and partial cases.
  • Fill out machine time, production report; collect labor reports and material worksheets from kitchen.
  • Record all materials used in the production batch order.
  • All materials will be documented.
  • Fill out batch log sheets for all required products.
  • Keep entire work area clean and organized at all times.
  • Fill out inventory ID sheets for all completed pallets, attach to pallets and shrink-wrap.
  • Perform general production duties and maintain cleanliness of operations equipment.
  • Follow all procedures related to job responsibilities.
  • Report any equipment, quality, formula, and shortage of material problems as they occur to the operator.
  • Box produced orders and prepare them for shipping.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by lead/supervisor.
