About The Position

Otter Co-op is seeking a Part-Time Kitchen Associate for their Highwayman Pub in Abbotsford, BC. Otter Co-op is a long-standing, community-focused organization with a diverse range of operations, including retail stores, liquor stores, a pub, and more. They have been serving the Lower Mainland, Fraser Valley, and BC Interior since 1922 and pride themselves on being a locally owned business with a strong team.

Requirements

• Must have excellent communication skills
• Be able to work efficiently in a team setting as well as independently in a fast-paced environment
• Must have a strong work ethic
• This is a physical job requiring the ability to stand for long periods of time and lift, push, pull up to 50 pounds on occasion
• Must be committed to a SAFE working environment

Nice To Haves

• Previous Kitchen Associate experience is an asset
• FoodSafe Level 1 is an asset
• Preferred candidates will have open availability and be able to work a variety of shifts 7 days a week, including evenings and weekends

Responsibilities

• Collecting pans/dishes from the line
• Assisting with food preparations (cutting vegetables)
• Running food to the tables
• Stocking coolers and refrigerators and ensuring all equipment and other items are stored properly
• Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash, etc.
• Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines
• Operate in a fast-paced manner to provide all areas of the restaurant with clean, sanitized dishware
• Assist with various duties such as portioning food and cleaning/sanitizing to assist kitchen operations
• Maintain quality and speed of output
• Contribute to the Team in living the Corporate Values of Integrity, Community and Excellence
• Perform other duties as assigned
