About The Position
The Chi chapter of Tri Delta at the University of Mississippi is actively looking for a Kitchen Assistant to assist with all of our chapter meal preparation and maintenance of the kitchen to create a premier living and dining experience for Tri Delta's members. The ideal candidate will be an eager waiter or restaurant staff member who is highly self-motivated with great attention to detail. The role will be responsible for keeping the kitchen clean and washing dishes as well as some assistance with meal preparation. Requirements
- 0 to 2 + years of related experience.
- Possesses skills to operate a computer including web browsing, email, and Office products.
- Meet specified physical requirements of lifting no more than 40 lbs, standing on the tile floor for long periods of time, and use of hands to handle and control tools.
- Ability to speak and read English.
- Ability to model, teach, and promote Tri Delta’s employee values.
- Ability to use proper discretion and independent judgment in carrying out the primary roles and responsibilities of the position.
- Successful completion of a background check and drug test.

Responsibilities
- Promptly notify the supervisor and/or house director of any maintenance problems or unsafe conditions in or around the kitchen
- Properly care for supplies and leftovers
- Assist in meal preparation
- Assist in checking and the storage of food and supplies that are delivered to the chapter
- Notify supervisor and/or house director of any accidents or injuries while on duty, immediately
- Assist in cleaning kitchen supplies and utensils
- Assist in taking out trash daily
- Assist in washing dishes after each meal
- Assist in cleaning the kitchen daily
- Observe kitchen and chapter rules, as determined by the chapter and house director
- Refrain from the use of alcohol or drugs in and around the chapter territory
- Maintain a professional relationship with all chapter members and residents, employees, and volunteers
- Perform general duties as assigned
