About The Position

Alto Wheaton is hiring a Part-Time Kitchen Assistant / Dishwasher to join our Dining Services team in our senior living community. This role is ideal for someone looking for a stable part-time job with a consistent schedule, a supportive team, and no late-night restaurant closings. The Kitchen Assistant plays an important role in keeping the kitchen running smoothly by supporting meal preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting the culinary team. Many team members come from restaurants and enjoy the improved work-life balance that senior living offers, with more predictable schedules and a supportive team.

Requirements

Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
Must have an awareness of safety practices.
Must have a positive Criminal Background Screening.
The Community is a drug free workplace.

Nice To Haves

Dishwashing or kitchen experience preferred
Food prep experience preferred
Dependable, professional, and team-oriented
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to cleanliness and organization
Passion for hospitality and teamwork
Minimum of six (6) months food service (or related field) preferred.

Responsibilities

Thoroughly wash all dishes, cookware, flatware, and utensils.
Properly maintain all dishwashing equipment.
Work as part of the Dining Services team to ensure smooth, efficient, and safe operation of the kitchen.
Help contribute to high quality Dining Services operations by paying attention to food presentation and taste, and courteous responses to residents and associates during meal service.
Set tables.
Bus tables.
Assist the Cook as needed.
Complete cleaning duties.
