About The Position

Devereux is seeking a motivated, dedicated, and compassionate Kinship Support Specialist based in Davie, FL. This role provides support and advocacy to help caregivers navigate the child welfare system. The specialist will ensure children's needs (physical, emotional, financial, basic) are met by engaging families in assessments and developing Family Support Plans. Key responsibilities include identifying family needs and facilitating access to necessary support services for youth placed in kinship homes.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or Human Services related field required.
Valid Florida driver's license.
Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
Successfully pass pre-employment medical screenings which include: Drug Test and TB Test.
Successfully pass a Level 2 background screening with the State of Florida.

Nice To Haves

Florida Certification Board (FCB) Child Welfare Certification is preferred.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency both written and spoken is preferred.
Two (2) years experience working with foster families and/or families in the child welfare system is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide support and advocacy to help caregivers navigate the child welfare system.
Provide required resources to meet each child's physical, emotional, financial, and basic needs.
Engage identified youth and kinship families in the assessment process.
Develop Family Support Plans.
Identify family needs and drive the implementation of accessing and connecting the family to support the youth placed in their home.
