Kinship Navigator Specialist
About The Position
LSI is seeking a full-time Kinship Navigator Specialist to serve in the Storm Lake and/or Spencer area. The role provides individualized support to kinship caregivers and children by assessing family needs, developing Kinship Support Plans, and connecting families with community resources. The Specialist helps caregivers access affordable childcare, medical and mental health services, food and financial assistance, legal aid, support groups, and other essential resources to promote child safety, placement stability, and family well-being. The position collaborates with children, parents, kin, fictive kin, and community partners and operates in accordance with the RRTS Prime contract between Four Oaks and Iowa HHS.
Requirements
- Associate degree in social work or a human services-related field.
- Two years of full-time paid experience in child welfare or human services.
- Self-motivated.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills.
