Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology or related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional child welfare experience.
  • Demonstrates good decision-making techniques and uses good judgment in dealing with people and information.
  • Possesses: excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to prioritize multiple tasks and problem solve; excellent time management skills; and strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

  • MSW and licensure preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Kinship Department’s initiative to recruit and approve kinship providers.
  • Works collaboratively with program leadership to execute an efficient and highly effective kinship approval and retention process that creates an exceptional kinship provider experience and promotes child welfare best practices.
  • Serves as the point of contact for out of home care placements, provider contracts and kinship payments.
  • Consults with program staff to select placement options when out of home care is necessary.
  • Initiates the completion of placement documents and coordinates placements with kinship and agency providers.
  • In partnership with FCCS, monitors compliance for out of home providers.
  • Oversees the kinship department, including the direct supervision of kinship coordinators.
  • Facilitates weekly case conferences and scheduled performance reviews.
  • Ensures timely completion of all kinship home studies and updates, per contractual standards.
  • Oversees system to track placement data, utilization management and placement outcomes.
  • Partners with community providers and program leadership to develop and implement retention strategies to reduce placement disruptions.
  • Assures all documentation and timelines required by the department align with ORC, OAC and contractual standards.
  • Provides support and training events for kinship providers.
  • Coordinates Holiday Wish for TVN Family Services.
  • Provides excellent internal customer service.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
