About The Position

The Law Society of Saskatchewan is seeking applications from its members for appointment to the Law Society King’s Counsel Committee. This committee plays a role in the selection process for the King's Counsel designation, which is made by the Minister of Justice and Attorney General. The committee will review applications and recommend candidates for consideration. The Law Society encourages applications from equity-seeking/deserving groups with diverse skills, perspectives, and experiences, including Indigenous candidates, women, persons with disabilities, racialized groups, and 2SLGBTQQIA+ individuals.

Requirements

  • Must be a member of the Law Society of Saskatchewan.

Responsibilities

  • Review applications for King’s Counsel appointments.
  • Select and recommend approximately seven candidates for consideration by the Minister of Justice and Attorney General.
  • Meet up to four times between September and November 2026.
