About The Position

The Kinesiologist, under the direction of the Manager of Rehabilitation, is responsible for completing professional activities including assessment, treatment, education, report writing, and management of clients requiring Kinesiologist intervention, in accordance with professional standards. The main areas of practice include Return to Work (RTW) services and the delivery of Employment-Related Assessment Services (EAS). Kinesiologist services are carried out in client's homes, communities, and work sites.

Requirements

  • Be in good standing with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario.
  • Bachelor/Master’s Degree in Kinesiologists.
  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of personal computers and proficiency with secure email.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

  • Preference of two years providing Kinesiologists services.
  • Experience with Return to Work (RTW) and EAS is an asset, including completing functional capacity evaluations, conducting functional assessments, ergonomic assessments, and transferable skills analyses.
  • Enjoy working with clients of all ages in multiple treatment environments.
  • Strong communication (oral and written) and presentation skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to handle difficult situations in an objective consistent manner.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively collaborate with a team.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the assessment of clients, establishment and ongoing evaluation and revision of treatment programs, including goals and discharge plans.
  • Maintains current accurate clinical records according to standards set by College of Kinesiologists of Ontario. Documents assessment results, goals, treatment, client progress and discharge plans in a formal report.
  • Collaborates with other members of the health care team as needed.
  • Communicates pertinent information and recommendations to clients / care providers and provides education regarding treatment strategies as needed.
  • Supervises Rehab Assistants (RA) and provides guidance as necessary.
  • Participate in ongoing internal and/or external education activities.
  • Adhere to Bayshore Therapy & Rehab Policies and Procedures.
  • Participate in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives in keeping with the company's Quality Management System.
  • Participate in proactive Health & Safety activities while performing all duties. Responsible to notify immediate Supervisor of any Health & Safety risks or concerns.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client and corporate information and discusses same only with appropriate Bayshore personnel.
  • Complete other tasks as requested.
