About The Position

This position is responsible for providing a strong academic foundation while fostering curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong passion for learning in all students. The role involves delivering effective, standards-based, and data-driven instruction to support continuous student growth and achievement, while promoting an exemplary educational program that meets the needs of diverse learners. The teacher supports the development of social-emotional and other foundational skills essential to student success and serves as an active, collaborative member of a Professional Learning Community, engaging in data-informed discussions to improve instructional practices. Additionally, the position encourages and facilitates parent and guardian involvement through ongoing communication, conferences, and school events, while building positive relationships with families and community stakeholders to support a connected and supportive learning environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • English fluency will be determined through the interview process and licensure.
  • Valid Colorado Teaching License with Elementary Education endorsement.
  • Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability in response to change.
  • Possesses computer and technology skills.
  • Effectively works with students from diverse backgrounds and abilities.
  • Collaborates well with supervisors and co-workers.
  • Capable of understanding and following both complex oral and written instructions.

  • Meets attendance standards and works the necessary hours to fulfill essential responsibilities.
  • Maintains confidentiality.

  • Complies with all District policies and procedures.
  • Adheres to federal and state laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Frequent lifting 5 (five) to 10 (ten) pounds.

  • Occasional stooping, kneeling, squatting, and reaching.

Responsibilities

  • Create a positive learning environment and effective classroom management structures that promote high-quality teaching, learning, and student achievement
  • Establish instructional routines that foster student engagement through questioning, critical thinking, creativity, and originality
  • Collaborate with specialists to implement inclusive, research-based practices that support students with special needs
  • Maintain a classroom culture that respects student dignity and is perceived as fair, consistent, and supportive
  • Differentiate instruction to provide enrichment for advanced learners and support for non-proficient students
  • Organize classroom procedures, systems, and data collection to maximize instructional time and efficiency
  • Motivate and empower students to take ownership of and track their learning progress
  • Design, develop, and evaluate authentic learning experiences and assessments aligned with 21st-century skills
  • Integrate contemporary tools and resources to enhance content mastery and real-world application
  • Collaborate with cross-grade and cross-disciplinary teams to strengthen curriculum alignment and instructional practices
  • Demonstrate strong content knowledge and deliver rigorous, relevant instruction for all learners
  • Align instruction with Colorado Academic Standards, including objectives, strategies, activities, materials, and assessments
  • Differentiate lesson planning based on individual student needs and learning profiles
  • Analyze student data using data management tools to identify strengths and areas for growth and inform instruction
  • Provide timely, specific, and constructive feedback that supports continuous student improvement and achievement
  • Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and staff regarding student progress and learning opportunities
  • Utilize technology and multiple communication platforms (e.g., websites, podcasts) to engage stakeholders
  • Actively participate in staff meetings, Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), and required professional activities
  • Apply new knowledge and skills to improve instructional practices and student outcomes
  • Advocate for and lead initiatives that support student success both in and out of the classroom
  • Adhere to professional codes of ethics and standards to guide responsible and ethical decision-making
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
  • Possible supervision of support personnel. Conduct supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to interview participation, training/development, assign and direct work, performance feedback, address complaints and resolve problems.
  • Prioritize and schedule work tasks independently. Create and implement effective and efficient process management strategies (e.g., procedures, instructional groups, transition materials and supplies). Accurately projects need for budget planning. Maintain accurate records in accordance with professional standards, state guidelines, and school system policy. Review processes for improvement opportunities and make changes as needed to ensure quality of instruction.
