About The Position

U Prep Schools is seeking a Kindergarten Teacher to implement curriculum, maintain a positive classroom culture, use assessments to guide instructional practice, and support students’ educational and social development through culturally relevant teaching. Teachers use district resources responsibly and participate in professional development. The role is based at UPAD Elementary School in Detroit, Michigan. U Prep Schools is a resource-rich learning community with 10 schools serving close to 5,000 students in grades K–12. The schools provide culturally responsive education and varied learning pathways intended to prepare students for college, careers, and independent, critical thinking. The teacher will receive support through well-resourced school buildings, professional development, collaboration opportunities, mentoring, and guidance from school leadership and administrative teams. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required in the content area.
Eligibility to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Nice To Haves

Valid Michigan teaching certification with an endorsement in the content area is preferred.
