About The Position

The Goddard School of Centerville is seeking a certified, passionate Kindergarten Teacher to lead their Kindergarten classroom and guide students through this important foundational year. As the Kindergarten Lead Teacher, you are responsible for creating a structured, engaging, and academically strong classroom environment that prepares students for continued success. The role involves developing and implementing lesson plans, delivering instruction, creating a classroom environment that promotes independence, critical thinking, and collaboration, differentiating instruction, conducting assessments, maintaining communication with families, designing an organized classroom, modeling positive guidance, participating in staff meetings and professional development, ensuring compliance with quality assurance standards, and collaborating with school leadership and fellow teachers. The goal is to create a classroom where children feel confident, capable, and excited to learn each day.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field required.
  • Current Ohio certification to teach Kindergarten required.
  • Minimum of 6 months experience in a licensed center or school setting.
  • Strong understanding of developmentally appropriate practices.
  • Experience leading a classroom and managing curriculum.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Commitment to professionalism, consistency, and continued growth.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing engaging lesson plans aligned with Goddard Developmental Guidelines and Ohio standards
  • Delivering instruction in early literacy, math, science, and social studies through hands on, developmentally appropriate learning
  • Creating a classroom environment that promotes independence, critical thinking, and collaboration
  • Differentiating instruction to meet individual student needs
  • Conducting assessments and using data to guide instruction
  • Maintaining consistent and professional communication with families
  • Designing an organized classroom that supports focus, exploration, and growth
  • Modeling positive guidance and age appropriate expectations
  • Participating in staff meetings, trainings, and ongoing professional development
  • Ensuring compliance with Goddard’s industry leading Quality Assurance standards
  • Collaborating with school leadership and fellow teachers to foster a strong school community
