About The Position

Portland Public Schools seeks an innovative and passionate educator to join our team as a Lower Elementary Teacher at Oakwood Elementary. Our district is collaborative and committed to supporting staff growth, instructional innovation, and positive outcomes for every student.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.
• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with an Elementary endorsement.
• Strong foundation in subject area content and Common Core standards.
• Ability to use assessments and student data to guide meaningful instruction.
• Ability to build and sustain positive working relationships with students, staff, parents, and district colleagues.
• Experience working with students with diverse learning needs.

Nice To Haves

• Exceptional communication, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Understanding of, or demonstrated training in, PBIS and MTSS frameworks.
• Ability to handle complex or stressful situations with sound judgment, professionalism, and composure.
